The Symbol DS3400 Series of rugged scanners brings high performance data capture to harsh industrial environments. Using digital imaging technology, this family of scanners quickly and accurately captures 1D and 2D bar codes, images and direct part marks, and is available in a number of models to meet diverse needs: DS3408-SF, for 1D/2D bar code scanning DS3407-SF, for 1D/2D bar code scanning as well as image capture and transfer DS3408-HD, for 1D/2D bar code scanning and optimized to capture very small, high density 2D bar codes DS3407-DP, for 1D/2D bar code scanning; image capture and transfer; direct part marks (DPM) All scanners in this series offer omni-directional scanning and a rugged design sealed to IP65 standards, ensuring reliability in harsh environments.

The DS 3407 industrial barcode scanner from Symbol Technologies uses digital imaging technology to accurately capture and transfer images (such as for digital document storage) as well as all types of two-dimensional (2D) and one-dimensional (1D) barcodes. The DS 3407 offers the high performance typically found only in laser scanners. The DS 3407 comes equipped with a charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor, which allows more accurate capture and processing of barcodes at a faster pace than other digital scanners. In addition, the scanner's omni-directional scanning functionality lets operators quickly capture barcodes from any angle, eliminating the need to line up barcodes with laser lines.
